Dance Affliction presents its first discographic effort, the initial chapter in a series of live recordings captured during various installments of the infamous experimental rave. First in line is Christoph De Babalon, the dark jungle brutalist par excellence, whose contribution in the developing of the most radical styles of dance music throught the past twenty years has been more than crucial. CDB assaulted Macao’s dancefloor during Dance Affliction 2, keeping it under the constant fire of his ultra-kinetic breakbeats and the dramatic tension in which his sound design is plunged. Like an act of ritualistic psychic deconstruction and emotional turbulence, channeled through extreme body music: this is what Dance Affliction is all about, and Christoph De Babalon embodies it perfectly.

Awesome dark oozes through ethereal spaces as dnb breakbeats infect with irrepressible rhythms. I remember when I first heard a few tracks of his in the late 90s on a DHC compilation. I looked all over for more, but back in those days there was no internet, and believe it or not my local cd shops didn't carry him :) Some things have improved after all ! spandAnanda

Listen to the variation of the highs. Like exploring at an atomic level the degrees between an extended tragedy and the grass of the first day of Summer. zywc
